Modular laser welding system
The BASIC M laser welding system from Leister is based on a modular block building system. The BASIC M system is used for laser welding of plastics and was developed for integration into industrial production plants. The BASIC M and BASIC L concept includes numerous functional units for plastic welding. The Main Unit together with the laser and the process optics represents the fundamental configuration of this concept. The Main Unit includes the IPC, safety and quality control.
The laser welding system BASIC L additionally incorporates the laser safety (for instance, a laser-safe housing) and thus differs from the laser welding system BASIC M. The configuration of the laser welding system determines the level of integration and thus the responsibility for the welding process. In the fundamental configuration, Leister is solely responsible for the laser and the process optics. If necessary, Leister can integrate additional units, such as the motion system, the clamping technology or quality control, in order to complement the laser process. In this way, Leister also has process responsibility for these sub-processes. The superordinate software controls all units, regardless of the configuration of the welding system. The software handles the entire process, both for the production of one type of workpiece and the chaotic production of different workpieces. Leister also provides a large number of sensors that are used for quality assurance or to control the process flow. Due to the variety of different options, different laser welding concepts can be implemented. They are tailored to individual customer needs. In addition, the welding process can be perfectly adapted to specific workpieces. Communication with the customer system is carried out via various interfaces: OPC UA, MES, Profibus, etc.). Leister specialists support customers throughout the entire project – from planning through implementation of the welding process to integration of the system. For detailed clarifications, interested parties contact their responsible Leister branch, their sales partner or use the contact form. In order to meet the specific requirements of customers worldwide, Leister offers the laser welding system in different versions: BASIC S, BASIC M and BASIC L. The laser welding systems mentioned vary in their functional range: S-Small, M-Medium, L-Large.
