In contour welding, a focused laser beam sequentially scans the weld seam and melts it locally.
Due to the geometric conditions, the welding volume remains low and the possibility of any escape melt is avoided. Relative motion is achieved by moving the component, the laser, or a combination of both.
Characteristics and application:
Point-shaped laser beam
High flexibility
Any 2-D-ironing lines
Ideal for frequent component changes
